At least 16 Palestinian civilians, including women and children, were killed, and dozens were injured today following an Israeli airstrike on a hospital in Jabalia, northern Gaza. The hospital, Yemen Al-Saeed, had been sheltering displaced families when the attack struck its courtyard.

The Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia received the victims after the airstrike on the hospital in the Jabalia refugee camp, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Several Palestinians were killed and injured in a second airstrike that targeted displaced individuals near the entrance of a hospital, according to the Gaza Civil Defense.

An eyewitness reported that the Israeli army has enforced a strict siege around northern Gaza, cutting off all access to Gaza City.

Israel's military campaign on the Gaza Strip has continued since an attack by Hamas on October 7 last year, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Since then, more than 42,000 people have been killed, most of them women and children, and over 97,700 others injured, according to local health authorities.

The ongoing Israeli offensive has displaced nearly the entire population of Gaza, where a blockade has resulted in severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.

In a separate incident, Israeli forces targeted a group of journalists in Jabalia, resulting in the death of one journalist and severe injuries to a camera operator. Al Jazeera's Fadi al-Wahidi was critically wounded in the neck during the attack.

Meanwhile, Israeli Special Forces killed four Palestinians and wounded another in the West Bank city of Nablus. Tensions continue to rise as Israel’s defense minister warned of a "deadly and precise" response to an attack by Iran last week. A senior Iranian commander also signaled Iran’s readiness to escalate its operations if provoked by Israel.

In Lebanon, more than 1,400 people have been killed since Israel escalated its conflict with Hezbollah. Over 1.2 million people have been displaced, adding to the immense pressure on Lebanon’s health and education sectors, which have faced relentless attacks and disruptions.
