Istanbul Airport Wins 'Airport of the Year' Award Again! - Istanbul Airport has clinched the prestigious title of "Airport of the Year" for the fourth consecutive time at the Air Transport Awards 2024.

This remarkable feat marks the fourth win for Istanbul Airport in its five years of operation, showcasing its consistent excellence in the aviation industry, according to Air Transport News.

The award winners were selected through a voting process involving over 4,000 readers of Air Transport News and executives from the aviation sector.

Ahead of its global competitors, Ä°GA Istanbul Airport secured the title of "Airport of the Year" in 2021, 2022, and 2023, reaffirming its dominance in the industry.

Selahattin Bilgen, the Acting CEO of Ä°GA Istanbul Airport, graciously accepted the award at a ceremony held in Ekali, Greece.

"We are truly honored to receive this prestigious award for the fourth consecutive year," expressed Bilgen, attributing the success to the unwavering dedication of the entire team.

He further stated, "Winning the title of 'Airport of the Year' underscores our commitment to delivering top-notch services. We have even bigger goals set for 2024, and this recognition motivates us to strive for excellence."

Last year, Istanbul Airport served over 73 million passengers, marking an 18 percent increase from 2022. International passenger traffic surged by 20 percent to 58.2 million, while domestic passengers reached 18 million, up by 13 percent compared to 2022.

In the first two months of 2024, the airport welcomed nearly 12 million travelers, signaling a 9 percent rise from the previous year. International passengers saw a notable increase of 12 percent, totaling 9.4 million.
