Nasik: The Income Tax Department executed a significant raid on Surana Jewelers and Mahalakshmi Builders in Nashik following tips regarding undisclosed transactions allegedly made by the owner. The operation, conducted at both the owner's residence and business premises, resulted in the seizure of around Rs 26 crore in cash and documents hinting at benami property worth Rs 90 crore. The raid aimed to investigate potential financial irregularities, with officials meticulously examining financial records and transaction data throughout the day.

Simultaneously, the Income Tax Department's scrutiny extended to Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where shoe traders found themselves under investigation for the third consecutive day. Sources revealed that the raids had already led to the confiscation of approximately Rs 53 crore in cash. The meticulous search even uncovered money stashed in unexpected places like beds and mattresses. To manage the large sum of cash seized, the department deployed several counting machines as the operation continued.

These coordinated actions underscored the government's commitment to combating undisclosed income and financial impropriety. With a focus on uncovering hidden assets and scrutinizing financial transactions, the Income Tax Department's efforts exemplify its dedication to ensuring compliance with tax regulations and maintaining financial integrity across various sectors.
