New Delhi: The Karkardooma court has framed charges against 3 persons in the case of the burning a school during the Delhi riots. Shamim Ahmed, Mohammad Kafeel, and Faizan were accused of arson. This is what the court has found to be the allegations after hearing the case. The court said there was enough evidence to prosecute the perpetrators. The court said that the aim of the rioters was to damage Hindu property. The school belonged to a Hindu, so it was attacked.

The court framed charges against the offenders under various sections including rioting, forming an unlawful association, using deadly weapons, burning movable and immovable property, and disobeying a government order. According to the news, the Modern Public School on Brajpuri Road was vandalized and set on fire. Vehicles parked there were also set on fire. Thereafter, many people including the principal of the school lodged separate complaints and got registered FIRs. Faizan, the criminal in the case, was declared a proclaimed offender by the Delhi Police.

In two separate cases related to the Delhi 2020 riots, local courts acquitted an accused named Rohit. The court said that the prosecution failed to prove the incident of rioting, sabotage, and arson. According to the agency, a case was registered against the culprit, Rohit, who was accused of being part of an unlawful assembly. It was alleged that Rohit was also involved in the riots. He ransacked shops and houses, stole, and set fire. The first case was registered for the incidents of rioting that took place on the intervening night of 25 and 26 February 2020 in Gokalpuri. While the second case was registered on 25 February 2020 for similar incidents of rioting. Proceeding the hearing, Additional Sessions Judge Pulastya Pramachala said that from the discussion and observations, this court has come to the conclusion that the prosecution case for rioting, failed to prove the incident of sabotage and arson. The judge acquitted Rohit of all charges against him in both cases.
