A shocking incident comes to light from Kolkata’s Apollo Hospital. She has filed a complaint with Phoolbagan police. She has given anesthesia at around 9 am on Thursday. The surgery was over by 11 am. The woman claims in a semi-conscious state she felt someone touching her private parts. The victim said, “Someone standing on my right side was groping me. It was so painful for me.”

The victim in her complaint said, “When I was slowly gaining consciousness, I realised I was being groped. I could feel everything but wasn't able to move or stop him as I was under the effect of anesthesia. When I could open my eyes I noticed marks on my private parts."   She also said no female staffer was present when the crime took place. She added, “I don't know what all happened to me inside the operation theatre but there are groping marks on my right chest which are visible.”

A medical test of the complainant was also done. DCP Priyobrato Roy speaking about the issue said, "This is a very serious allegation raised by the lady. A case has been registered under the section of 354 IPC against an unknown accused. We have taken the matter very seriously. It has been brought to our notice that a patient has complained about inappropriate conduct by a member of the staff.”

He added, “We take all such allegations extremely seriously and the matter is under investigation by the relevant authorities with our full cooperation. The safety and well-being of our patients is our top priority and we are committed to creating a safe, respectful and welcome environment for everyone who comes to our hospital.”
