New Delhi: Senior leader and lawyer by profession Kapil Sibal, who has quit the Congress party, has made a big statement on Tuesday. "Many people are coming together for the year 2024. Sibal has quit the Congress and filed his Rajya Sabha candidature as an independent candidate with the support of Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party. The term of Sibal, who represented the Congress in the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh, ends in July. He said he had resigned from the Congress on May 16 itself as he always wanted to be an independent voice in the country.
Kapil Sibal further said, "I was the leader of the Congress. But now I am not. I had resigned from the Congress on May 16. I will not say anything about the Congress. It's not right for me to say anything. It's not easy to break up a 31-year-old relationship. After filing his nomination papers for the Upper House, he said, "I have filed my nomination as an independent candidate. I have always wanted to be a free voice in the country. We (opposition) want to form an alliance so that we can fight the Modi government firmly. '
Kapil Sibal, a lawyer by profession, further said, "I am thankful to Akhilesh Yadav ji. We and many more are coming together for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. We will highlight the shortcomings of the central government before 2024. Everyone will put their views before the public. '
