Srinagar, Yesterday, police arrested two drug peddlers carrying five kg of Charas in Bandipora district of north Kashmir. According to police spokesman, "Rayees Ahmad Dar and Javaid Ahmad, both residents of Shahgund village of Hajin, were arrested during vehicle checking near Wasikhan-Sumbal, 21 km from here on Srinagar-Bandipora road".

He further added, "the arrested persons are notorious drug peddlers and they were travelling in a private car when intercepted by police."

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the duo, police said.
