On Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the people of the state not to taint Coronavirus patients and to promote social discrimination.

According to the official release on this matter, Reddy said, 'We have to make some lifestyle changes to maintain our immunity level, maintain physical distance and take care of old and sick people. The coronavirus will come and go, but for this, we do not need to blur anyone, because anyone can get into its outbreak. We should be careful according to the guidelines.

The Chief Minister said that the state is conducting more tests than other states in the country. He said that a total of 74,511 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far in Andhra Pradesh. Reddy said that initially, we did not have any virology lab. But now we have nine such laboratories. He further said that five dedicated hospitals have been allocated for COVID-19 treatment and 40,000 beds have been provided in quarantine centres across the state. The Chief Minister said that the women self-help groups (SHGs), who got the contract of sewing protective masks, are now producing about 40 lakh masks per day.
