In Sanatan Dharma, it is very auspicious to visit the char Dham. It is customary that devotees who visit Chardham attain heaven. Jagannath Temple is located in the entire state of Odisha. It is called the heaven of the land. One of the four religions of Sanatan Dharma is the Jagannath Temple in Puri. Tomorrow means the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath begins from 12th July. Lord Vishnu is offered khichdi at Jagannath Temple in Puri. But did you know about the story behind it...

Khichdi is consumed every morning in Jagannath temple. According to the story behind this, Karmabai, the supreme devotee of Lord Vishnu, lived in Puri. She loved God like her son. Karmabai used to worship Thakurji in the form of a child. One day Karmabai's mind desired to make something with her own hands instead of fruit and nuts for God. She told God about his will. God is always there for his devotees. They said, "Whatever mother has made, feed it, he is very hungry. Karmabai had made khichdi and gave it to eat. God lovingly ate khichdi and the mother began to swing the fan, caressing it so that his mouth would not burn.''

God said, I like khichdi very much and you should cook khichdi for me every day. That's what I'll eat. God used to come every day to eat khichdi in the form of a child. One day the sadhus came as guests and saw that Karmabai made khichdi without bathing and Thakurji enjoyed it. He refused to do so to Karmabai and asked her about some rules for indulging in indulgence. The next day Karmabai consumed as per rules which delayed her. She is sad to think that my Thakur was hungry for so long.
