NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday sent his best wishes on Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, and wished for everyone's health and happiness the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri. "Greetings on this auspicious Rath Yatra day. We pray to Lord Jagannath for his constant blessings in our prayers. I pray for everyone's health and happiness "said PM Modi in a tweet.

Odisha's Puri was the starting point for the Pahandi ceremonies for Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra. After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID outbreak, devotee participation in the Rath Yatra is now permitted.

In a statement highlighting the significance of Yatras in Indian culture, the Prime Minister said that the country's pilgrimages not only provide spiritual inspiration but also an opportunity to help the underprivileged. The Prime Minister added, "With regard to the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra," "Various Dev-yatras also take place from time to time in our nation. In Dev Yatras, not only the devotees but also our Gods go on a journey. 

The renowned journey of Lord Jagannath begin on July 1. We are all aware of the Puri yatra in Odisha. People work hard to make sure they have the good fortune of visiting Puri on this particular day."
