Asaram Bapu, who is serving a sentence in Jodhpur Central Jail in Rajasthan, has also succumbed to corona infection. He was rushed to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital last Wednesday night due to sudden deterioration of his health. He is said to have been admitted to the ICU by the doctor after conducting a preliminary examination. In fact, Asaram was showing mild signs of corona and in view of this, his sample was taken and sent for examination on May 3. Asaram's report turned positive last Wednesday evening and after that his health started deteriorating.

You must be aware that about a dozen prisoners were found corona positive in Jodhpur's Central Jail last month itself. During that time, all corona positive prisoners were isolated in the prison dispensary itself. Talking about Asaram Bapu, Asaram was admitted to the hospital on February 18 after he complained of chest pain, though he was sent back to Jodhpur Central Jail two days later after he was found to be nothing serious.

As soon as the news came, a large number of Asaram's followers had gathered outside the jail and the police had to face a lot of difficulties in removing him. At present, after reports of Asaram being infected with corona, posts have started appearing on social media about his recovery and his devotees are praying for him.
