There are many individuals behind the exponential rise of the businesses, thanks to their relentless hard work and astute skills to take the industry to astounding heights of success. With so many technological advancements, businesses have also noticed a rise in cyber threats and malware that try to question the confidentiality of their data and pose as a threat. This continuous escalation of cyber threats can trigger unprecedented demand for various software solutions and also employee training, says Jaime Manteiga, who is a proud CEO/Co- founder of Venkon Corp and Taptok. Jaime Manteiga serves as one of the top experts in Information Security and is an Information Security researcher who helps businesses and organization worldwide with various cybersecurity challenges and their information security posture.

Phishing attempts, malware attacks and threats, and many other cybersecurity challenges reached a record high in 2020 after the majority of the businesses went digital for their working. This expansion of digitalization also led to the rise of much exposure to virtual threats. Looking at this scenario, Jaime Manteiga is of the opinion that IT security is going to be of prime concern for the decade. Due to the pandemic, many coronavirus related attacks were also noticed, where computer virus infections have been on a rise and hackers have been taking advantage of the same. As per research, Jaime Manteiga points out that the ransomware attacks spiked by around 25% between quarter 4 of 2019 and quarter 1 of 2020. Also, criminals have been increasingly using coronavirus themes in their attacks for luring vaccine information, masks and other short-supply items.

Also, amidst the pandemic, the man who has the passion for aligning security architecture, processes, policies, procedures, controls, with security standards and operational goals highlights that there has been a rise in many phishing attacks, where the hackers pose as trustworthy sources of information from the World Health Organization (WHO). After noticing many breaches and malware attacks, companies, both large and small, are now beginning to double down on IT security for keeping their employees and customers safe from these attacks. Jaime Manteiga, who is a leading professional in the IT and cybersecurity space, also points out that not only criminals but governments are also cracking down on encryption. Many governments plan to ban or weaken end-to-end encryption, which allows any cloud provider to break the system and acquire and monitor the data.

Looking at all these growing concerns in terms of information security, Jaime Manteiga believes that IT security would be of prime concern in the next decade and much more research, strategies and techniques would be required to safeguard the confidentiality of the data and systems.
