Giving information, the delegation has said that 0.5 percent import duty has been imposed on Kharar in the Union Budget. After finishing Kharar, only 10 percent of the finished product is available. The remaining 90 percent becomes waste. In this way, if there is a fee of Rs 1 per carat on Kharar, then the cost of Rs 10 per carat on finished goods increases. Chairman Sanjay Kala says that the jewelry business of Jaipur is especially famous for its colorful gems. These days, he is going through the recession, the Hong Kong problem and now Coronavirus and other difficulties. This business is facing a lot of competition from neighboring countries.

This Jaipur business is entirely dependent on the import of raw materials. Along with these problems, in this era of competition when the exporting countries are also looking to refine their gems, imposing import duty on colored gems Kharar is a step to end business prospects. The Finance Minister assured the jewelers' delegation that it would try to solve this problem.
