Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the Jal Jeevan Mission is giving new momentum to the country's growth, reiterating the Centre's commitment to delivering water to every family.

On Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the Jal Jeevan Mission is providing new impetus to the country's development today. He said that water has reached crores of families in less than three years, which he described as a magnificent example of public aspirations and engagement.

Until 2019, just 3.23 crore households were connected to a water supply, according to the central government. Jal Jeevan Mission has linked 9.40 crore homes to the supply water facility since its beginning in 2019. Jal Jeevan Mission has benefited 1.5 lakh communities in 107 districts across the country. The drinking water supply is available to 17.39 lakh schools and Anganwadi Kendras.

4.82 lakh water committees have been formed in villages to manage drinking water. Around 9.69 lakh women in villages have been taught to inspect water quality. More than 4 lakh villages have access to water quality testing on a local level. Jal Jeevan Mission, the Prime Minister stated, is a terrific medium for decentralisation in addition to giving water to families. He emphasised that women in rural India are driving the mission.
