New Delhi: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind secretary Niaz Ahmad Farooqui issued a press release on Saturday, criticizing the government for the Citizenship Amendment Act. In the press release, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Qari Syed Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri and General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani expressed their anger over the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, the civilian deaths and injuries caused by firing done by the police. He said that under no circumstances can violence be advocated, be it by the government and the administration or by the protesters.
