Rajasthan Police's Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATS) and SOG have arrested the elder brother of an IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir Gurugram in Haryana. Police officials said on Tuesday that they were arrested on Monday night due to their involvement with the gang providing illegal arms and fake vipers licenses. In this case, now 52 accused have been arrested, from which 67 illegal arms and 1188 fake weapon licenses have been recovered.

Umesh Mishra, additional director general of Rajasthan ATS, told that 46-year-old Kumar Jyoti Ranjan, owner of a construction company based in Haryana, was associated with a gang providing illegal weapons, which came in the joint operation of ATS and SOG 10 months ago. Jyoti is accused of providing a license to keep arms to dozens of people through his younger brother and IAS officer Kumar Rajiv Ranjan of Jammu and Kashmir cadre. Mishra also said that the role of the IAS officer, in this case, is being examined right now. 

In September last year, ATS and SOG busted the Interstate syndicate, which provided illegal arms and licenses, which was active in four states. It is to be mentioned that in the States, there is a ban from the year 2008 on forming a valid VP license at all India level. But the leader of this gang, arrested from Ajmer, gave Jubair with a fake license of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh in the first place on the local address of Jammu and Kashmir by making a license. Since September, Rajasthan Police has raided Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in this case.
