Administration withdraws decision to cancel Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar: There is still doubt about whether the Amarnath Yatra will take place or not. However, the administration has yet to take a decision on this matter. Earlier there was speculation that the trip might be postponed due to Corona epidemic but now the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has postponed the decision in this context.

The Uttarakhand government has taken this decision at the behest of the Center. The communiqué issued by the Raj Bhavan states that the decision has been reserved. A decision will be taken in this context keeping in mind the situation of the Corona epidemic. Earlier, the administration had said that there are 77 red zones in Kashmir. Most of the Amarnath yatras are en route. It is not possible to provide facilities and gather the necessary materials.

Amarnath Yatra of Jammu and Kashmir is the biggest journey. This year the yatra is to begin from 23 June. Registration for the trip has been postponed twice. Registration for the journey starts in advance. Registration was to start from April, now it was deferred till May 4. For this, banks in Jammu and Kashmir and the country are also contacted. Travellers are also asked to produce a fitness certificate. Travel is not allowed without medical.
