Srinagar: Three months have passed since the withdrawal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and till now the big politicians here have been kept under house arrest. But now the government is preparing to send these leaders to some other place. According to a media report, the government is trying to send these detainees to the Hotel Centaur, located on the banks of Dal Lake. At the same time, due to the huge amount spent on these, the government has come under the target of opponents. If sources are to be believed, till now the government has spent Rs 2.65 crore on these leaders.

31 prominent politicians of the National Conference of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former CM Omar Abdullah of J&K former CM Mehbooba Mufti are still in the house arrest. All of them are housed in a hotel owned by the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). These leaders have been under house arrest since August 5 when it was decided to remove Section 370 from the Valley. Sources have been told that these political prisoners can either be shifted to the MLA hostel which is near MA Road or can be sent to any hotel in the city.

Official sources have stated that Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC), which is in sharp contrast to the hotel, is unable to organize any program due to these political detainees. The hotel has been converted into a jail and due to this, no program is being organized in the convention center. Apart from this, the bill which is being taken by the authorities has also become a headache.
