Srinagar: Political developments in Srinagar have intensified after the issuance of advisories to Amarnath pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir. In Jammu and Kashmir, the national conference leader Omar Abdullah has arrived to meet the Valley Governor Satyapal Malik amid ongoing political turmoil. Omar Abdullah will hold a press conference after meeting Governor Satyapal Malik.

The BJP Core Group meeting is underway in Jammu. State BJP President Ravinder Raina has said that the tricolour will be hoisted in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 15th of this month. He said Amarnath has been sent back for the safety of the Yatris. On the other hand, former Jammu and Kashmir CM and People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti had met Governor Satyapal Malik late last night and demanded to rein in the rumours about Article 35A saying people are in awe.

After meeting Governor Satyapal Malik, Mehbooba Mufti said the Governor's reply is not very satisfying. Mehbooba Mufti accused the central government of making the state a jailhouse. Mehbooba Mufti targeted the BJP and questioned other states, saying the BJP had failed to win the only Muslim-majority province.
