Srinagar: A major fire broke out in The Batal Balian Industrial Area of Udhampur district of The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir last night. However, no deaths have been reported from the fire so far. The fire broke out at the chemical factory on Thursday night. Eight fire department vehicles rushed to the spot to douse the flames. Meanwhile, the Air Force was also present at the location for service to douse the flames after the fire went out of control.
The chemical factory reportedly caught fire between 12 am and 1 am on Thursday midnight. Soon the fire took a vicious turn. The Indian Air Force was sought because of the uncontrollable fire which was yet to be ascertained. The Indian Air Force reached the spot late in the night and tried hard to control the fire, but the fire could not be extinguished till the news was written. The chemical factory is said to be from Dhanuka Agritech Limited, the manufacturer of pesticides, fungicides and plant growing pesticides in Udhampur.
Air Force officials said that there was no loss of life due to the fire, but the factory was completely burnt, vehicles parked inside the factory were also burnt and our mission is now to protect the nearby buildings from fire.
