Srinagar: PDP supremo and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti has claimed to be under house arrest by tweeting. He tweeted and wrote that Home Minister Amit Shah is talking about normalcy in Kashmir, while I am under house arrest. After her allegation, the reaction of the Srinagar Police has also come to the fore. Actually, Mehbooba has also shared a picture with the tweet. In this picture, a big black door is visible and it has a lock and a chain at the bottom.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti wrote on Twitter tagging Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha that the Home Minister is whipping the drum of normalcy in Kashmir. I have to go to Pattan to attend the wedding of a worker, but I cannot go because I am under house arrest. She further said that if the fundamental rights of a former Chief Minister can be snatched away so easily, then cannot even imagine the plight of the common man.
After this tweet of her, the Srinagar Police exposed her allegations. The police responded on Twitter and wrote that it is clarified that there was no restriction on any kind of travel to Pattan. The journey to Pattan was at 1 pm as we were told. The police further said that the picture she tweeted was from inside the gate. In this, the people living in the bungalow have their own locks. There is no lock or any restriction from our side. She is free to travel. Simply, the police say that Mehbooba Mufti's house is locked from inside and she is accusing the police that she has been placed under house arrest.
