Srinagar: Four militants have been killed by security forces in an ongoing encounter in the Srigufwara Shalagul forest area of Anantnag in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Regarding the number of terrorists killed in the encounter, police said that the bodies have not been recovered yet. Anything can be said only after recovering the corpse.
A joint team of security forces is carrying out this operation which includes the Army's 3-RR (National Rifles), CRPF and SOG. To prevent any rumours about the encounter, the internet service in the Anantnag district has been temporarily shut down. It is noteworthy that the security forces were informed about the hideout of the terrorists in the area. On the basis of this information, the joint team started a siege of the area. During this, the terrorists, seeing themselves surrounded, started targeting the security forces.
Even after this, the security forces appealed to the militants to surrender, yet the shelling continued. After which the soldiers took the front. Four terrorists were killed in an encounter that lasted for several hours. However, the bodies have not been recovered yet. At present, the operation of security forces against the terrorists is going on.
