Srinagar: The encounter between security forces and militants is going on in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. The encounter took place in Malampapora area of Sopore. One terrorist was reportedly killed in the encounter so far. His body is being searched. However, it is yet to be officially confirmed. Security forces have suspected that two terrorists were holed up in the area.
Security forces have cordoned off the area. An Army jawan was also injured in the encounter. The security forces had received inputs about the presence of militants in Malmappora area of Sopore. Security forces launched a search operation in the area. In the meantime, firing started from the militants side. The security forces also retaliated.
The encounter took place between security forces and militants in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. An Indian soldier was killed in the encounter. A joint team of 34RR, SOG and CRPF of the army had launched a search operation in Pandushan area of Shopian district after which the encounter broke out in the area.
