New Delhi, India: The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), under the purview of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, will mark Jan Aushadhi week from March 1 to 7, with the goal of providing inexpensive medications to everyone across the country.

"In India, there are around 8,600 Jan Aushadhi centers that serve everyone with cheap medicines. Jan Aushadhi week, which runs from March 1 to 7, is being held to promote this "Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, stated on Tuesday.

Thousands of people, according to Mandaviya, acquire medicines at lower prices from Jan Aushadhi centers.The general public is becoming more aware of public medicine as a result of this. Along with this, people are learning that Jan Aushadhi Kendra has the best and cheapest medicines.

On the first day of Jan Aushadhi week, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that a padayatra was held in 75 cities across the country.

The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) was started in November 2008 by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, with the goal of making quality generic medications affordable to all. According to the ministry, dedicated outlets known as Janaushadhi Kendras will be built under the scheme to provide generic medications at low prices.
