The public is facing many types of problems in lockdown which also includes economic scarcity. The government on its part is trying to give relief to the public in this matter. The same, now the second installment of Rs 500 has been sent to more than 10 crore women of Jan Dhan bank account holder. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said in late March that an ex-gratia grant of Rs 500 would be given to every woman holding the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) account. Under the Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Package, payment will be made for the next three months. After this, the Ministry of Rural Development released the first installment for the month of April. The ex-gratia amount is part of the Rs 1.7 lakh crore stimulus package announced by the government in March to overcome the economic crisis arising out of Covid-19.
