Everyone likes to travel. However, some people are so fond that they do anything for travelling and 77-year-old Jane Socrates of Britain has become the oldest woman to travel the world by sea and she was alone in her journey. Let us tell you that Jane completed her entire journey in 320 days, which is a new record. The woman has made her journey in a 38-foot long Nerida boat. However, during this time all the panels of the boat had become useless due to the storm and even after that, she completed her journey in Canada on Sunday.
According to Royal Yacht Club, Jane has circled the world in the year 2013 and during that time she broke the record of 71 years old Minoru Sato, while Minoru became the oldest woman to travel in the world in the year 2005. At the same time, Jane went out to roam the world in the year 2017, but during that time, her neck was fractured when she fell from the boat and after recovering, she set out on the journey again.
The 77-year-old Jane started her boat journey with her husband after retiring from the job in 1997 and since then the couple has travelled all over Europe, the Caribbean and the US. Her husband died 16 years ago in 2003, although Jane did not stop sailing and in the year 2009 and 2012 also she tried to circumnavigate the world and she was successful in 2013.
