Janhvi Kapoor was recently featured in a promotional video for Disney's The small Mermaid, in which she transforms into a mermaid, similar to Princess Ariel, and recites a Hindi poem for two small girls. The planned film is a reimagining of the famous fairy tale that updates the studio's own 1989 animated version.Â
Jhanvi shared the video and wrote, "Immerse yourself in the wonders of The Little Mermaid where love knows no bounds and where wishes come true. Watch Princess Ariel in #TheLittleMermaid in cinemas on May 26."Â
Rob Marshall is the director of The Little Mermaid. The film also stars Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, and Javier Bardem as King Triton, in addition to Halle Bailey in the major role. Daveed Diggs as Sebastian the crab, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder the fish, and Awkwafina as Scuttle the bird are among the talking sea and land creatures in the film. Indira, one of Princess Ariel's mermaid sisters, is played by Simone Ashley.
Janhvi was most recently seen in the film Mili. Helen, a 2019 Malayalam film, inspired the Hindi drama. She has also finished filming for Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan, and Mr and Mrs Mahi, starring Rajkummar Rao. The actress will make her Telugu debut in NTR 30 opposite Jr NTR.
