Japan Allow Residents To Travel 12 Countries Including Singapore

The local newspaper of the area reported on Thursday that Japan is planning to eliminate a ban on overseas travel to China and 11 other countries and regions next month. The 11 other countries and regions are Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, and Malaysia. The Japanese government has currently banned travel to 159 countries and regions as it will approve that travelers refuse from unnecessary and non-urgent visits to those 12 countries and regions, the newspaper states.

According to authorities, Japan is planning to permit Japanese and foreign national business travelers with residency status to re-enter the country without having to isolate for two weeks. The two-week self-quarantine is essential because of the Corona outbreak and measures will be surrendered for returning business travelers who submit an action plan. The travelers will also have to avoid using public transport. A final judgment on the manageable re-entry procedure is to come sometime this month.

Japan is alleviating the isolation restriction to make it easier for employees to travel and to stimulate the resumption of economic activity. The government has been reviewing its entry and exit restrictions and on October 1 authorities had begun enabling foreign nationals who plan to stay in Japan for three months or longer to enter the country. Japan had eased its entry restrictions into the country for foreigners specially who came for the purpose such as foreign medical professionals, teachers, and others who are qualified for medium or long-term stays for three months or longer, as well as those traveling for business purposes for less than three months.
