Japan reports first case of new coronavirus strain that emerged in South Africa

The first case of the new coronavirus variant found in South Africa has been confirmed in Japan. A woman who arrived from South Africa in Japan on December 19, turned out to be infected with the new 501.V2 strain.

According to Japanese media reports,  japan registered another six cases of the new coronavirus strain that emerged in the UK.  With the inclusion of the new cases, Japan now has a total of 15 cases of new coronavirus variants. Meanwhile, Six cases of UK mutant strain of coronavirus has been detected in India Health Ministry said that all the 6 UK returnees who found positive with new Covid strain have been kept in single room isolation Three of the patients are in NIMHANS, Bengaluru, two in CCMB, Hyderabad and one in NIV, Pune. The people came in contact with the infected have also been put under quarantine.

Earlier this month, UK announced that the country had identified a new variant of the coronavirus that spreads faster than other strains. Many countries have suspended passenger travel to and from the United Kingdom to prevent new virus strain.
