A group of Japanese scientists has created a unique technology to create self-healing batteries. This writes the EurekAlert

Currently, devices use either lithium-ion or sodium-ion batteries. Both of these types of batteries eventually lose their original capacity due to numerous recharges.

This is due to the fact that the layers of the battery inside begin to decompose and form cracks, which, in turn, reduces the ability of the battery to charge.

At some point, the user is faced with the need to replace the battery. New Japanese technology has allowed scientists to create a special regenerating material, which increases the battery wear time.

The layers of this battery are held by the force of Coulomb attraction, and in ordinary layers by the power of Van der Waals, which is second in strength.

Also, the material created by the Japanese can self-repair. This technology is applicable both in smartphones and cars.
