Highlighting Bumrah's importance in the them, Yuvraj rated the pacer among the top three fast bowlers in the world and backed him to be the best at the mega event. He said, "Bumrah is amongst the top three pacers in world cricket at the moment. He's been winning us games. He's at his best when he's attacking the batsman. I'm definitely gunning for Bumrah as the best bowler in the World Cup.”

Yuvraj, who bagged the Man of the Tournament award in India's 2011 World Cup triumph is currently plying his trade for Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL 201. He revealed that he has told Bumrah not to bowl against him in the nets. "I don't play him in the nets. I tell him not to bowl to me," he said when asked if it was difficult for the batsmen to face him in the nets.
