Shahid Afridi, former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, has given objectionable statements against Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in the past and he is badly trapped in the affair. The anger of the people has flared up since his statement came out. Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan have already given a befitting reply to Afridi. Lyricist Javed Akhtar also mocked Afridi and reprimanded him.

Recently Javed Akhtar tweeted and wrote, "I saw Shahid Afridi's sermon. It is so funny that the man has the courage to give us knowledge that religion and politics should not be mixed. There is a saying that Dusron Ki Ankh Ka Tinkay Dekhne Wale Khud Apne Aankh Ka Shehteer Nhi Dekhte". A person trolled him on his statement and wrote, "O uncle there is no difference in Bollywood. There is no limit to the art of Bollywood. These people are going to show you their status and you are in the same line so far." Javed Akhtar wrote in response to this, "Surprisingly, how can someone be so stupid as you are."

Apart from Javed Akhtar, filmmaker Ashok Pandit also expressed anger over Shahid Afridi's statement. He tweeted and wrote, 'Mohammed Shahid Afridi @SAfridiOfficial abusing Our Army & PM Modi. This video is for those urban naxals who say sports is beyond boundaries & want to build hospitals there.Pakistan is a terrorist nation & will remain to be so.Shame on Paki's'.

In the video, Afridi had said, 'I am very happy to meet you, but a very big disease is spread all over the world. But the even bigger disease is in Modi's heart and mind and that disease are Religion. He is doing politics about religion and is at odds with our Kashmiri siblings and elders. He has to answer. Although Modi tries to be very bold, but he is a coward. For such a small Kashmir, he has mobilized an army of 7 lakhs whereas the total army of Pakistan is 7 lakhs, but he does not know that there is an army of 22-23 crores behind them."
