On Thursday brought with it the terrible news that a suicide bomber belonging to the Jaish-e-Muhammad terror outfit rammed an explosive-laden SUV into a convoy of buses carrying CRPF troopers, hitting mainly two buses carrying around 35 personnel each. The terror attack took place in Pulwama district's Lethpora area in J&K. As soon as the news broke, the country was left in a state of mourning. As an after-effect of this, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi have cancelled their upcoming trip to Karachi, Pakistan.

Earlier today, Javed Akhtar announced on his Twitter account that Shabana Azmi and he was invited by the Karachi Art Council for a literary conference on Kaifi Azmi and his poetry. But they have cancelled their visit now.The death toll after the tragedy stands at 38 and the suicide bomber has been identified as Adil Ahmad Dar alias Waqas Commando. He was from the Kakapora town of Pulwama district.

The deadly attack shook the nation and many paid their respects to the departed souls on social media while condemning this terror act. Several Bollywood celebrities also posted messages to pass on their heartfelt condolences to the families of the ones who lost their lives.
