Renowned lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar of the country says that the idea put forward by actress Priyanka Chopra as an Indian citizen in support of the Centre's recent decision on Kashmir is "clearly her idea from an Indian perspective".
Priyanka has also been sought to be removed by a Pakistani minister as the UN goodwill envoy for peace and commented on the same demand by Akhtar. At the same time, Akhtar said, "If his comments have offended the Pakistani establishment, she can do whatever she wants."

Javed Akhtar said of Priyanka, "I know Priyanka Chopra personally and she is cultured, civilized and educated and she is an Indian," he said, "If (like Priyanka Chopra) is an ordinary Indian citizen and somehow differences in the attitude of the Pakistani establishment. If there is a dispute, her attitude will certainly be like an Indian."
