Jayashree Gadkar, who has won the hearts of her fans for her acting and beauty in Bollywood and played the role of Mother Kaushalya in The Ramayana, is always in the news for something or the other. Jayashree Gadkar made a distinct identity in the 60s-70s. Today is the birthday of Jayashree Gadkar. Jayashree Gadkar was born on this day i.e. February 21, 1942. 

Along with this, in her career spanning almost 50 years, Jayashree worked in about 250 films. Jayshree received National Awards for her films Manini, Vaijanta, Saal Mazak Ek and Sadhi Mansa. Not only this, apart from acting, she also tried his hand in direction and directed Marathi films Sasar Meher and Aashi Asavi Sasu. At the same time, many people do not know that Jayashree had got a chance to perform in front of the Prime Minister of the Soviet Union. Jayshree's husband Bal Dhuri had told that in 1954, the Prime Minister of Russia was going to visit Shivaji Park in Bombay.

She worked in films like Panchatri, Rangpanchami, Vaijanta with Suryakant. She worked with Sarnayik in films like Saal Majha Eka, Ek Gao Bara Bhangadi, Gangolan. Her time in Hindi cinema was not very special. Along with this, she worked in films like Luv Kush, Ishwar, Shravan Kumar, Tulsi Vivah and Madari. In the year 2008, Jayshree Gadkar died after a battle with the disease.
