In advance of the holiday season, the price of the Jeep Compass SUV has increased significantly yet again. The prices of the flagship five-seater SUV have been raised by 90,000 across all variants by the US-based automaker. Since April of this year, Jeep India has announced price increases for the Compass SUV three times. Just two months ago, in July, the most recent raise was put into effect. The updated list indicates that the Jeep Compass would be offered for a starting price of 19.29 lakh and a maximum price of 32.22 lakh (ex-showroom).

The entry-level SUV, the Jeep Compass Sport petrol manual 4X2 version, costs 19.29 lakh. Prior to April of this year, it was 17.80 lakh. In barely six months since the beginning of the current fiscal year, Jeep India has imposed three price increases. The price of the Jeep Compass has climbed by 1.50 lakh as a result of these three price increases. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk 4X4 diesel, the SUV's top-spec model, will now set you back 32.22 lakh (ex-showroom).

Jeep India recently commemorated the Compass SUV's fifth birthday. To commemorate the event, the automaker unveiled the 2022 Compass 5th Anniversary Edition. When Jeep entered the mass market mid-size SUV class in 2017 and offered a four-wheel-drive system, the Compass made its debut there. Jeep India's best-selling vehicle is still the Compass.

In India, there are two different engine options for the Jeep Compass. The first is a 1.4-litre turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission. The maximum engine output is 163 horsepower. A 2.0-litre diesel engine is also available; it can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine's maximum output is 173 horsepower.

In India's premium mid-size SUV market, the Jeep Compass SUV competes against vehicles like the Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Taigun, among others.
