Kochi: After 15 years in the southern state of Kerala, a Jewish couple has been married once again. This is the fifth such marriage in the last 70 years. The marriage took place on Sunday (May 21). Data Scientist Rachel Binoy Malakhi married NASA engineer Richard Zachary Rowe in the US. The marriage took place according to Jewish customs. During this a large number of guests also arrived. Members of the local Jewish community also attended the wedding. The marriage ceremony was organized at a resort in Kochi.

Jewish weddings rarely take place outside the Pardesi Synagogue in Mattancherry. It is famous for Jewish town and Jewish heritage. But, it was difficult to gather 300 guests here, for this the program was organized outside the Synagogue. Jewish bride Rachel has informed that it was not possible to gather such a large number of guests in the Synagogue. The decorations for the event in the Synagogue would also be limited. According to the report, Rachel is the daughter of former SP Binoy Malakhi and Manjusha Maryam Emmanuel in Crime Branch. Manjusha Mariam is a psychologist by profession. The tent in which both of them got married is called Chuppa. First, the rabbi reads the marriage contract, which is called the 'ketubah'.
