4 people tragically died in a major lift collapse at Koderma Thermal Power Plant

Koderma: 4 people have died while 20 people were trapped on top of an under-construction chimney at KodermaThermal Power Plant in Jharkhand. However, all of these were later rescued. According to reports, 4 people, including 2 engineers, were killed in the accident, the project head of a company called Srivijaya. Four people on board lost their lives when the wire of the temporary lift broke during the chimney construction.

The deceased were identified as Krishna Prasad Kodaali, 42, a project head of Srivijaya Company, 42, Vinod Chaudhary, 50, a project officer from Nagpur, Karthik Sagar, a 30-year-old engineer from Andhra Pradesh, and Naveen Kumar, a 30-year-old safety officer from Gaya, Bihar. According to reports, project head Krishna Prasad along with his colleagues were inspecting the work at an altitude of about 120 feet in the flue gas desulphurization area in the chimney under construction.

In the meantime, all four people were seriously injured when the lift wire broke. Two of them died on the spot shortly after, while two died after reaching Koderma Sadar Hospital.
