Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu announced on Tuesday on the occasion of the country's 72 Republic Day that the state government is going to waive off agricultural loans up to 50 thousand rupees of about 9 lakh farmers of the state by March 31 this year as per its promise. The governor spoke in his address after taking the salute of the parade here on Republic Day. Governor Murmu said that his government has launched the Jharkhand state agricultural loan waiver scheme and is going to know a provision of Rs. 2000 crore for waiver of loans up to Rs. 50 thousand to farmers in the current financial year.
The governor said that the state Government has taken large scale steps to deal with corona infection so that a large number of lives could be saved from the epidemic. Jharkhand has also joined the entire preparedness in the vaccination campaign launched in the country from 16th January to deal with coronavirus by PM and vaccination of health workers at 48 centres in the state is in operation.
Murmu also recalled the freedom fighters of the country and Jharkhand on the occasion. He said that providing employment to the youth in the state is the topmost priority of the State Government and for this purpose, his government has taken a number of steps. Through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, large scale appointments are going to be made in various government departments and the calendar of all examinations of the Commission is going to be issued. In this regard, he said that the State Government is also fully conscious of women safety. A total of 32.2 lakh households have been connected so far by constituting 2.57 lakh Sakhi Mandals to ensure the contribution of women in the development of the state.
