Four villagers lynched in Jharkhand over suspicion of witchcraft

Gumla: Four persons have been beaten to death by sticks in the village of Hunter, a town under Sisai police station area of Gumla district of Jharkhand. The cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained. But people say that witchcraft has killed two women and two men.

On the other hand, some villagers say that the 10-12-year-in-chief has been carried out by miscreants. The deceased were identified as Suna Bhagat (65 years), Fagni Devi (60 years), Champa Bhagat (65 years) Urs and Petti Bhagat (60 years). After the murder, there is an atmosphere of fear in the village. According to the information received, the miscreants, who came in the range of 10 to 12 at 3 a.m., took everyone out of the house and beat them to death at a distance of the village. On the other hand, people believe that the deceased Bhagat Ojha was acting as Guni, after which he was murdered because of witchcraft.

On the other hand, afraid villagers are not saying anything due to fear of witchcraft. DSP Deepak Kumar, on the other hand, said that it is a case of superstition. The four have been murdered on suspicion of witch-hunting, but the police are investigating the whole case and the truth will come out soon.
