Meerut: A woman from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh has claimed that she was raped by a man for a year. The woman said that the accused had said that she was going to contest the councilor's election. In the name of giving work, the accused brought the woman to Lucknow and forcibly established a relationship. She also made videos of the victim.

The woman says the video and some photos are with the accused. Then he began blackmailing. The victim said the accused raped her for nearly a year on one pretext or the other. According to the victim, when she asked for the photos and videos to be deleted, the accused refused. When the woman complained to the police, the accused threatened to kill her.

The victim said that the accused had committed the rape by intoxicating her. He said, on making a complaint, the accused also threatened to make the video of the rape viral on social media. The Superintendent of Police (Crime) of Meerut has taken cognizance of the case and assured the victim of action. The Superintendent of Police has also ordered an inquiry into the matter.
