On Friday, the Jharkhand High Court will decide on the bail plea of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam case against him. The case relates to the fraud of government money from the Dumka treasury during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Bihar.

According to the media report, Lalu Yadav applied for bail before the High Court citing his poor health and age. The RJD chief, who has been convicted in several fodder scam cases, earlier got bail in the Deoghar Treasury case. His lawyers have pleaded before the High Court that the RJD leader should be granted bail as he spent more than half of his sentence behind bars. Earlier on December 3, the Bihar politician was elected for the 11th consecutive time as the national president of his Rashtriya Janata Dal.

For your information, let us tell you that Prasad, who founded the party in 1997, is serving a sentence in fodder scam cases in Ranchi and his nomination papers were presented at the RJD state headquarters by his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav. Prasad's duly authorized papers were brought here by a close aide and party MLA Bhola Yadav, which was filed in the presence of RJD others like National Vice President Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and state president Jagadanand Singh.
