Ranchi: Three Naxals were killed in an encounter between security forces and TSPC militants near Hesalbar and Marabar villages in the Latehar district of Jharkhand. Of the Naxals killed, two have been identified while efforts are on to identify one. After the encounter, the police have also seized 26, 7.62 mm live bullets,  a 7.62 mm SLR rifle, an SLR magazine, 15 cartridges, AK-47 live bullets and other material from the Naxals.

It is being said that all the Naxalites had come to eat fish in a house, but this was reported to the police and the police team started chasing. The locals have said that all the Naxalites used to always threaten the old woman living in the house and enter her house and leave after eating food. As soon as the Naxals started moving further into the forest after eating the food, the naxals' eyes fell on the police. On seeing the police, the Naxals started firing indiscriminately. Three Naxals have been killed in the retaliatory action.

After the encounter, some Naxals managed to escape by firing. Police claimed that two Naxals were also shot. Jharkhand Jaguar and district police personnel were present in the encounter.
