Naxalite arrested with US-made rifle in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Police has arrested Naxalite Courier Arvind Ganjhu of the banned Third Conference Presentation Committee (TSPC) from Lavalong police station area of Chatra district in Jharkhand with a foreign rifle and a large number of cartridges.

Superintendent of Police Rishabh Jha has said that he had received secret information that TSPC Naxalites had given the huge quantity of illegal cartridges and weapons to the house of Naxal courier Arvind Ganjhu for the purpose of carrying out any major incident in the district. Taking immediate action on the information, a joint team of police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was instructed to run the operation.

During the operation itself, the security forces arrested the Naxalite courier Arvind Ganjhu from his Tikda village. Police seized the American Made rifle and 2680 cartridges from the house of the arrested Naxalite courier. Jha said that the arrested Naxalite courier TSPC was involved in the transportation of arms as well as the transportation of illegal money to coalfields for the Naxalites.
