Ranchi: The District Police of Ranchi in Jharkhand has arrested liquor mafia king Singhania, who has been absconding for five years. The arrested Naresh Scindia alias Naresh Singhania and his brother Prahlad Singhania were counted among ranchi's biggest liquor mafia. Tell me the police had been looking for naresh for the last five years. Naresh is an accused in the case of death of 22 people due to consumption of poisonous liquor.

The king's elder brothers Prahlad Singhania, Gautam Thapa and Indrabhan Thapa, who supplied poisonous liquor, were sentenced to life imprisonment on August 20, 2018. The court had found the trio guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and adulteration of poisonous items. A FIR was registered against the trio in 2017 on the statement of santosh kumar, the family member of the deceased, at Sukhdevnagar and Namkum police stations in the case.

Illegal liquor baron Prahlad Singhania had been absconding since September 4, 2017. He was repeatedly changing his whereabouts by dodging the police. On October 4, 2017, police raided and arrested Prahlad Singhania from his house in Namkum Jorar. The Singhania brothers have been accused of dealing in illicit liquor in Ranchi for the past two decades. Even after the news of Singhania's illicit liquor trade spread everywhere, its black business continued to flourish.
