Earlier in the testimony, Jiah mother Rabia said, Jiah was initially "apprehensive and reluctant", but the duo met for the first time in September 2012, Rabia said. "At that time she sent some pictures ....to me it looked like they clicked and had mutual interest...However, in September she (Jiah) told me they were just friends," she said.On December 24, 2012, Rabia said she received a message from Pancholi, saying he got angry with Jiah Khan after a fight with a friend and that she (the actress) should forgive him and give another chance. "At that time, I discovered that the duo had a violent fight, According to Rabia, Jiah told her that Pancholi abused her verbally and physically, and also called her by "dirty names".

About Jiah’s case
On June 3, 2013, Jiah was found hanging in her apartment. Investigators claimed that the 25-year-old actress' boyfriend, Sooraj Pancholi, pushed the actor to commit suicide. According to Jiah's mom, she was murdered and her daughter could not commit suicide. She had written a six-page suicide note in which she blamed her drastic decision on her ex-partner, Sooraj Pancholi. Sooraj was then detained by Mumbai police but released on bail a few days later. The CBI was assigned the task of conducting the investigation into Jiah's suicide case, and Sooraj was charged with abetting suicide.
