Reliance Jio disappoints users, now customers have to pay extra for calling

Reliance Jio started the price war in the telecom market in India. Now, this telecom war took a new turn, now the consumers will no longer be able to make free calling. The company has decided that 6 paise per minute will be charged for outgoing calls on other networks. The company has taken this decision amid the ongoing debate over the interconnect usage charge for the past several days. Now Jio customers will have to recharge the additional IUC topup. The new system will be implemented from tomorrow i.e. from 10 October 2019. The company gave this information by issuing a press release. But in a way, users will have to pay an extra charge.

The internet usage charge is the amount paid by one mobile telecom operator to another. When the customers of one telecom operator make outgoing mobile calls to the customers of another operator, then the IUC operator has to pay. These calls between two different networks are known as mobile off-net calls. IUC charges are set by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and currently, it is 6 paise per minute which has been implemented by Jio.
