In the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Jitendra of village Tirpadi has got the opportunity to confirm the ticket in 74 kg category from India. After this victory, Jitendra has said that my preparation is good and I will not disappoint the country in the Asian Championship next month. My aim is to get a ticket to Tokyo. The goal is to win a medal after that.

On Friday, the Indian Wrestling Association held a trial for the Olympic qualifying matches at the International Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi, in which wrestlers from different quarters of the country arrived. The final match was between Amit Dhankhar and Jitendra. In this match, Jitendra won 5–2 and confirmed his name for India's Olympic qualifying matches. Now Jitendra will go to India to get Olympic tickets. Jayveer Akhada Bupania wrestler Jitendra fought his first match with Sandeep in the trial, winning 3–2 to enter the next round. The second match was held with Vinod Omprakash and won 6–1 to secure a place in the final. Instructor Jaybir said that he had a good fight with Amit and Jitendra managed to win 5-2.

Now in February, the Asian Championship will be played at the International Indira Gandhi Stadium in Delhi and it will include wrestlers from Asia countries. Here Jitendra will have a chance to win a Tokyo ticket with a medal. The two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar did not attend the trial. He said that he was injured. Although Sushil had requested to pursue this trial, but on his request, the Wrestling Federation of India said that all the trials will be done on their own time.
