PM Modi ensures prior development in J&K, says Jitendra Singh

On Friday, Ministry of State (MoS) Union Minister Jitendra Singh in the PM's office said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives top priority to Jammu and Kashmir.

According to ANI, Jitendra Singh said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi always gives top priority to Jammu and Kashmir. Modi Ji has ensured that developmental work should be balanced between the three regions - Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh,"

On May 19, PM Modi is scheduled to visit J&K. As per the news agency reports, just the day before their visit to the valley, a total of four civilian and a Border Security Force (BSF) lost their lives in the ceasefire violation. They lost their lives at different places along the Line of Control (LoC).

Recently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Centre had ordered to suspend the operations against terrorist in the state during the holy month of Ramadan. On this order, Home Ministry said that this order which is issued has been taken to help the "peace-loving Muslims observe Ramzan in a peaceful environment". However, the order clarified that the security forces "reserve the right to retaliate if attacked or if essential to protect the lives of innocent people".
