Lucknow: Political turmoil has intensified in Uttar Pradesh ahead of next year's assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) camp is witnessing the highest upsurge. State CM Yogi Adityanath is meeting the party's high command in New Delhi, while discussions on cabinet expansion are now in full swing in the state.

According to sources, Jitin Prasad, who recently joined the BJP except the Congress, could also be a part of the Yogi cabinet. According to sources, Jitin Prasad may be made MLC in July. With MLC elections to five seats scheduled for July, the way is also open for cabinet expansion. If it happens that the Brahmin face that the UP BJP was looking for before the elections seems to be ending up as Jitin Prasad.

In fact, whether it is the timing of Jitin Prasad joining the BJP or the statements made by him after his entry. Most of these looks have been made in the Yogi cabinet for Jitin Prasad. Since there is no Lok Sabha election at present nor is there any Rajya Sabha seat vacant from Uttar Pradesh, Jitin's chances of going to the centre are less visible.
